If you still haven’t heard of Pokémon Go yet then you probably don’t go online much or there’s a good chance you just might be living under a particularly secluded rock. Pokémon go game has been a phenomena since its been released. In just two months, this game has been downloaded over 500 million times worldwide and became the fastest game to make $500 million in revenue. Well we are going to refrain ourselves talking about Pokémon go itself because it will take lot of pages and moreover there are so many blogs talking about it already. This page would be about playing Pokémon Go in McLeod Ganj, India
We have been playing Pokémon Go in McLeod from past two months now. Other than Major cities like Delhi and Chandigarh, we can say McLeod Ganj is one of the best places to play Pokémon in North India. One of the coolest things about McLeod Ganj is the number Pokémon gyms and Pokestops present here. There are 10 Gyms and around 30 PokeStops in McLeod area. Having this amount of gyms and Pokestops in this small town clearly shows how well rated our town is in Google Map. There are hardly any Gyms and Pokestops in Gankyi or lower Dharamsala area(not even in Kangra). Gyms is a place where the players get to fight with other trainer’s Pokémon and to earn Poke Coins. Pokestop is a place where you can collect Items eggs and more PokeBalls to capture more Pokémons.
Below map gives the location of all the PokeStops and Gyms. Another good reason to play Pokémon go in McLeod is the spawn rate of the Pokémons here. You can at least expect one Pokémon will pop out in every two or three minutes if you are walking across the McLeod Streets. The availability of Pidgey , Caterpie and Weedle are high here which are vital for a player’s progress. We found lots of Eevees which are really good Pokémons. They are considered not common in other places or countries. We also found many very rare pokemons such as Dragonite, Exeggutor and Snorlex. Bagsu Nag is really a good place to catch water type pokemons. You will find lots of Magikarps , Psyduck and Slowpokes. You might even get your hands on Goldduck, Slowbro and Dritinis.
Unlike any other games, Pokémon go makes its players leave their house and explore the outer world. Unless you don’t walk out, you won’t progress in this game nor catch any cool Pokémons. So you can take a walk to Bagsu or TCV while playing this game. It would be beneficial for your health while having fun. It also bring people together. For instance; I put down a lure module on a Pokéstop (which lures more Pokémon to the stop) near the Main Square McLeod around 2 p.m. Even with a slight drizzle coming down, several people showed up within minutes. We exchanged a few knowing glances at each other first and later on we are showing our Pokémon collection to each others.
There are three teams in this game: Team Instinct (Yellow), Team Mystic (Blue), and Team Valor (Red). You can join any of these once you reached level 5. Right now team yellow is dominating in all ten gyms across the ten gyms of McLeod. So what are you waiting for ? Download the App and start playing.
